When you take Robert Shaw's amazing legacy into account -- his decision to come to Atlanta at a time of extreme social unrest in the southern United States, his insistence that the orchestra become full time players -- the present attitude of the ASO Board and WAC to stop this organization's continued growth is even more mystifying.
