Chicago strike has ended

Breaking news from Chicago. I think it's instructive to compare the numbers there with those for the ASO (both with respect to the size of the deficits and the terms of the contracts that were/are being negotiated).

  1. Wow! How refreshing to read a well-written, fully-fleshed-out newspaper article full of facts and quotes from the parties involved. I guess that's what you get when your hometown newspaper still has paid arts writers to keep on top of such stories.

  2. I liked Robert Bruno's comment: “It's pretty clear from what we pay athletes, what we pay musicians, that people place supreme value on having this relationship with their athletes, with entertainers,” Bruno said. “There's no Bears without the Bears, and there's no Chicago Symphony without the musicians.”
