  1. So ... the series was a success, the show sold out, audience in ecstasy to be at Symphony Hall ... but to be asked if the orchestra played well puts Midori in such a 'difficult position' that she can't answer? How about, "Yes. They played well." If she is asked: "What do you think about the lock-out, Midori-san?" She can answer: "That question puts me in a difficult position." and she would be right.

  2. Whoa! And it took Spano who did not stand by "his" musicians a minute to answer? And Midori? Sounds like there are still a lot of issues not being addressed. They are professional musicians and you know just cause they were not in rehearsal they do practice - they practice year round so they can always be in top form. Can't believe the reporter or anyone would even question that! So,the slighting of musicians continues.... Not good!

  4. Lord, the AJC depresses me. What a pathetic excuse for a newspaper. Is this the "unmatched coverage" readers were promised? Also, could they not just leave out the awkward Midori comment??? Yeah, objective reporting, blah blah, but to try and wring a juicy twist out of a nothing comment like that is just ridiculous. Jackasses.
